A not-so-easy victory Derrick Rose, rookie that he is, knows basketball strategy doesn't have to be complicated. ''It's just defense,'' Rose said. ''Not even worry on the offensive side. The defense has to step up a lot, and we've got to control the paint.'' Rose and the Bulls did those things just in time Tuesday to turn around what was looking like another disastrous loss in the making.

No Kane, but goals rain Faced with being swept by the Blackhawks in their season series, Wayne Gretzky changed goaltenders Tuesday for his Phoenix Coyotes' last regular-season meeting with the Hawks. Gretzky started Ilya Bryzgalov in the first three games but went with backup Mikael Tellqvist this time. The strategy didn't work as the Hawks rolled to a 6-0 victory, with Cristobal Huet earning the shutout.
