The gawky vamp who has the girls gawking
Cindy Pearlman: In the twilight of the day, as the sun fades behind the Pacific, he looks pretty good for someone who is supposed to be 109 years old. The Sexiest Vampire Alive sits before you explaining his frailty, and it's not holy water or sunlight.

'Hooked' by 'Twilight' film

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series has a staggering 17 million teen readers, many of whom will be lined up neck and neck to see the film version of the first book that will be unleashed on Friday.

Shields might get some sleep with 'Jungle' cancellation
Cindy Pearlman: What comes between Brooke Shields and her 500-thread-count sheets? Two little girls who need some attention -- although their model-actress-mom just rolled in from an all-nighter shoot for "Lipstick Jungle" that lasted until 5:30 in the morning. Can you say coffee in massive doses?

'View' co-host Sherri Shepherd thinks globally
Cindy Pearlman: Some call Sherri Shepherd outspoken. Some call her earthy. And others call her geographically challenged. "The View" co-host and Chicago native would like to clear up the last one. She now has the shape of the world figured out. "Oh girl, people got on me for that one," says Shepherd. "It was my second or third day on 'The View' and I was asked if the world was round or flat. I said I didn't know."

Samuel L. Jackson recalls Bernie Mac's last movie
Cindy Pearlman: They met up in Chicago years ago when Samuel L. Jackson was filming "The Negotiator." He didn't need to negotiate what he would do in his off hours. "I hung out at my old friend Bernie Mac's house on the South Side," Jackson says. "He took me for the best food of my life. We talked about our golf games. We talked about life."

'Madagascar 2': It's a zoo in here
Not everybody hates Chris. It's true that Ben Stiller is complaining about his co-star in "Madagascar 2," but his tirade is not pointed at the A-list comic sitting next to him. The tough cookie he's talking about? Stiller's 2½-year-old son Quinn, who voices a baby lion lost on the plains of Africa in "Madagascar 2," opening Friday.

Guy Ritchie's his own man without Madonna
A few weeks before the split heard 'round the world, Guy Ritchie was just your average British director married to the biggest music superstar around. He didn't want to dwell on Madonna while talking about his new film "RocknRolla," but he also knew that some mention of his significant other was part of the game.

Selling 'Zack and Miri' harder than filming it
There is nothing X-rated about Seth Rogen, including his most lurid confessions from childhood. "Let me tell you about the first time I saw an adult film. ... I wasn't ready for it at all. The body parts were so ... surgical looking. I mean, I never saw those body parts before and it shocked me," says the curly-haired comic star of "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" (opening Friday).

Five questions with Traci Lords

‘I needed a cougar in this movie and made a list of all the actresses everyone wanted to be with at age 20. Of course, Kelly LeBrock came to mind,” says director Kevin Smith. “Then I thought, ‘What about Traci Lords, as a wink to her old life?’
