    Living in denial about home's value You may think you live in Chicago, but you may really be living in denial. That's where home sellers languish when they have unrealistic expectations about the value of their homes in this post-bubble era. But market analysts suggest that those who can't adjust to the new reality are helping keep the market from reaching its bottom.

    It took some hard reality to convince John Cicero and his wife to lower the $525,000 listing price on their five-bedroom home in Valrico, Fla. They ended up selling it for about $380,000.
